How to correctly master the spraying operation skills of a spray gun?

Although everyone has been spraying for some time, they may not know how to correctly master the spray gun spraying operation skills? Weina Machinery has specially summarized some knowledge in a unified and standardized manner for everyone, hoping to gain insights and inspiration.

Mastering the correct spraying operation skills during the spraying process aims to save paint, obtain coatings that meet quality requirements, avoid the consumption of paint quality and physical strength, and reduce the probability of waste production. By training in correct coating operation techniques and turning them into habits, not only can production efficiency be improved, but coating quality can also be enhanced. Below we will introduce the basic techniques used when using airless or universal air atomization equipment.

Preparation before painting
The spray gun and related equipment should be cleaned and in normal working condition. Check whether the spray gun produces the ideal spray shape. The ideal spray should be symmetrical, uniform and clear. Only a few paint mist particles can exist outside the spray edge. The capacity of the configured air compressor should meet the requirements of the equipment operation manual. For example, the GPQ6C airless sprayer is required to have an air consumption of 300-2500L/min and should be equipped with an air compressor of 1.6-2.5m3 or 2.5 m3. In order to ensure sufficient air intake, the inner diameter of the air outlet pipe of the air compressor and the air pipe connected to the inlet of the spraying machine should not be less than the diameter of the air inlet pipe specified in the manual for this type.

spray pressure
Conditions for achieving appropriate atomization pressure: the minimum atomization pressure required to achieve ideal atomization of liquid. Therefore, the principle to be followed when adjusting the pressure is: “spray has a good shape and the set pressure is right” (the pressure should be as low as possible) Excessive pressure will not improve the quality of the coating, will only shorten the life of the equipment and increase the wear of the nozzle, and will make the coating rebound, waste the coating and pollution space.
